Hi,

I'm trying to build Lightfeather using Dev C++. It compiles fine (although it takes ages) but the linker throws this error:

"Error 1"

It's not any more descriptive sorry!

Also I can't run any of the samples as apparently I'm missing a cg.dll. What is this file and how do I get it?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer me.

you can find cg in the ext/ directory that is included in lightfeather.
i have to admit though that it has been quite some time since i tried building lf with devc++. generally code::blocks is much better and the preferred IDE for gcc on windows when using lightfeather.

Hey,

Sorry, still like DevCpp better!

Unless these changes are made DevCpp won't run lightfeather out of the box:
1) set one of the library directories to be a directory containing lightfeather.dll (I used "bin/release")
2) set the executable output directory to bin/release
3) And why doesn't buildsys.exe automatically copy cg.dll to bin, bin/release and bin/debug?
4) Also readme.txt should be updated to make it clear that -9 is a parameter for buildsys.exe

I tried submitting this 3 times as a ticket but it wouldn't work.

Thanks,
Lars

Hi Lars,

Thanks for the info. I will try DevCpp again but that will most likely be in a week or two.
As to the ticket - that thing seems to be picky about who can create new ones and who can not without any obvious pattern im afraid. But forum posts are fine, too and wont be forgotten either.

Regards
Matthias

Just tried my method on all of the tests+tutorials and it works on all except largeterrain for some reason - but then it works well on terrain+sky+trees so it's not that much of an issue.
